Summer Plans

My plans for this summer are to maintain my levels that are high and increase my level in vocab. Since I had a good score in some of the tests I know what to focus on in the summer. I'm going to read at least four hours a day for at least four days a week to improve in my reading. I also want to work on my math skills, studying my multiplications would really help me (I don't know them all) so if I go to G.E.D. I know the basics. So these are my plans for the summer of 2011.

Story I made up.... jajaja

There was a loud crash and suddenly I saw this guy flying out of his bicycle. It all happened so fast, I only saw a car speed away and didn't have enough time to react-- didn't see what type of car it was, nothing. I was in a state of shock. This guy was driving so fast he ran over a person on a bike. I didn't have a phone to call the police and I was embarrassed to talk to people I'm not people friendly but decided to yell for help to everybody. The police came ask me questions that I couldn't answer. I was speechless and no words came out of my mouth, it was like I had no voice. I wanted to tell them everything I knew but it was impossible. It was the most terrifying thing I had ever experienced. What would you do in my situation? How would you react?

Family

To me family is: love, companionship, sharing, caring, and knowing how to listen to each others problems. I consider my family to be my blood relatives, but also people who are there for me when I need them showing me they care. I always say it's better off to give than to receive" because god sees that and he surprises you with lots of good things. When you go hug someone that you think needs a
hug or when you just console them by telling them it's going to be OK. Those are the things that really matter.

My Mom

One of the things my mom did well in raising me was that she never left us without a house or food . She would do the impossible to put a roof over our heads and food in our tummy. Would I do something different? Well she would hit us with anything she could find when we didn't behave. I don't really mind the hitting because if I was being bad I guess I deserved it, but all that hitting me made me a stronger person. When I have children of my own I don't say I won't hit them, but I would try just to talk to them and tell them what they're doing is wrong.

Weather Disaster !!!

I don't like all this crazy weather happening, but I guess it's mother nature. All the tornadoes, earthquakes and tsunamis going on are terrifying. People are scared for any of these to happen in their states or cities. I hope that it all ends soon and we have no more bad news related to these natural disasters.

Perfect Day!!!!!!

To me a perfect day would have to be with my husband: a day at the beach, romantic, picnic and a fireplace. We would be under the stars looking up, telling each other how we felt when we first met and how we love each other now that we're married. That would be my perfect day.

I think the difference between my generation and my mother's is a huge one. I don't know much about my grandparents because I don't spend time with them . My mother's generation is different in many ways she didn't have a cellular phone or use Internet like we do nowadays. Also nowadays we have help from the government with food stamps, and my mom had to dig out of a trash can eating peoples leftovers because of her lack of money. So it's pretty different in other ways but I'm not going to get into details, it makes me cry.

If I could change something in my life it would be that my dad didn't leave with another woman; he left when I was seven years old. I wish I still had him here with me but I guess not everything in life is perfect. My brothers and I went through alot and he wasn't there.

Ad's

I don't think advertisements affects me in any way. If I see something that I need in the T.V I'll definitely go buy it. I like that they make it look nice and perfect, even though when you go get it it doesn't look the same.

T.V's and SHOWS

I watch T.V approximately thirty to forty hours a week. I love to see reality and funny shows. I don't like too see Mexican shows with people that have just started acting, because they are not good at it.

I read a book called " I Never Asked You To Understand Me" by Barthe DeClements. It's a pretty good book, maybe teenagers can enjoy it. What I liked about this book was the drama, it was sad too. Some people can identify with the main character, it's all real life scenarios.

News News News

I do keep up with current events because it's important to know whats happening in the world. I heard about the death of Osama Bin Laden Sunday night. I was watching my favorite show and it got interrupted. My family seemed very interested but i don't think they would be that happy of people dieing.

Katherine Tyler (Kit) is a 16 year old girl that moved to Connecticut from Barbados. She went to live with her aunt and uncle because her mom and dad died in a boat accident, and she was raised by her grandfather. Kit did not tell anyone of her decision of leaving to Connecticut. She knew that it was not going to be the same as her island. Kit makes a couple of friends Hannah, Prudence and Nat--but she is forbidden to see Hannah and to teach Prudence how to write. People thought Hannah was a witch because she was a Quaker and an old woman. William confessed to her that he likes her and wants to marry her, Kit told him that they should wait. Judith and Mercy are Kit's cousins. Judith likes John, John likes Mercy, Mercy likes John. But Mercy and John don't know that they like each other. How will this all end? Will everyone marry the one they love?

Main Idea

I think the main idea of the book so far is that you can't judge someone just for the way they look or where they came from. People may judge by the appearance but there is more to it than the way they look or dress. In the story people are accusing Kit of being a witch, when they don't even know her.

This is a book about a girl named Deirdre Neil (Didi). Didi's life was so complicated. Her mom has cancer and her dad is always to busy to be around them. Things happen in her house that she doesn't like and wants to runaway-- but she decides to stay and deal with them . She starts going to an alternative school, which she doesn't even like. In regular school she had foreign languages and in that school there is nothing like that. Didi meets this girl names Stacy they become friends. Soon after that she meet T.J and they start dating. Didi would go visit her mom in the hospital everyday she could--she's really hurt for what's happening.

In my point of view it was an excellent book, it's interesting , it's very sad but nice, and it's all about drama. I would truly recommend this book, specially to anyone that likes to read about drama and real life scenarios.

summary 4/26/11

After Kit helped Hannah in the ship to escape from the mob they found a book that belonged to Kit. Kit didn't tell her uncle that she kept seeing Hannah after she was forbidden to do so. The constable told her that she was going to get put in jail for witchcraft.

Choice for Project

I'm thinking of doing the "back of the book" project. Since I wasn't here for the beggining of the book this is the only one that would fit for me.

News

Alert to all U.S citizens! Don't travel to any of the following cities in Mexico-- Juarez, Culiacan, Tijuana--these are rated the most violent cities in Mexico because of the Zetas. The Zetas is a band that does drug trafficking. These people are killing innocent people that are trying to come to the U.S for a better life. In my opinion I wouldn't travel to Mexico because of all that violence. I know there is violence everywhere but in the past year it's been mostly in the states I mentioned.

Danger

Yes, I would help a friend out if he or she was in danger because then I would be a true friend. True friends are with you in good and bad times. Just standing by your side. I would help a stranger because only God can judge that person and if he or she needs help. No matter how bad he's been in life, it's the right thing to do.

People

I don't think people in our community are treated fairly because many times I've witnessed people making fun of them, putting them down and lots of other stuff. So in my opinion people in our community who are different are not treated fairly.

John <-&-> William

John Holbrook is studying for medicine and religion. He likes Mercy but didn't have the courage to stand up for his love towards her, when Judith talked him into marrying him he was in shock and didn't say anything. William Ashby is into politics. He has courage because he asked Kit to marry him, only brave men do that. Also he is mature and patient. Kit asked him to wait for the answer on getting married with him, and he's waiting. While William waits he's building a house for them. Things they both have in common are that they are both determined to get married. They both go hangout in the girls house.

My weekend

I'm doing very good . Today is a sunny day, sunny days make my mood happy . My weekend was ok it could have been better. We ate pizza and my family came to visit. We had a blast. Also we went shopping for stuff we needed and that was fun. I love spending money .

Mercy

Mercy is a nice sweet girl but she is disabled. She would rather for Judith to be happy instead of her. Even though she is disabled, she still does things others do--not the same way, of course--but she tries. Mercy wanted to go to the husking party but it was too far for her to go.

Judith

I think Judith knows what she wants is life and is very determined. She is deterined to marry John and she says that she is going to marry him and she wont stop until she gets it. Judith is sociable so she is very excited about the husking party and that makes her outgoing.

Hannah

Hannah was a Quaker who lived by herself in the meadows. Some people didn't like Hannah and others thought she was nice. People thought she was a witch, but Kit, Nat, and Prudence went to visit her anyway.

White little lies

Well, for me it's not good thing to tell little white lies because that little white lie as many call it can bring many problems. There are many ways it could bring problems, probably not at the time you said it but it will get to you. In the future you may not even remember how you said it and you will get tangled in your own lies.

Summary

Kit's real name is Katherine, and she is 16 years old .She is in the shore of the river waiting for the Dolphin to get a glimpse of the American land . Kit gets on the boat and meets this lady that is going back to her house for the spring and when she got to the American land. Kit for the first time was embarrassed because the people in there were stairing at her so. She got back in the boat to go home, mean while in the boat this little girl threw her doll her grandfather had made her into the water and Kit jumped in for it and in back of her was Nat .
